Bone: out from Boneville

This is one of the possible options for 4th ESO 1 and 2.

Remember that you have to choose between Sherlock Holmes and Bone.

I am going to introduce you to the character and to the comic book in case you are not sure what it is about:

Out From Boneville is the first book of the Bone series. It was first published by Cartoon Books on May 29,1995 in black and white. On February 1, 2005 Scholastic published it in color (by Steve Hamaker).
After being run out of Boneville, the three Bone cousins - Fone Bone, Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone - are separated and lost in a vast, uncharted desert. One by one, they find their way into a deep forested valley filled with wonderful and terrifying, creatures. Eventually, the cousins are reunited at a farmstead run by tough Gran'ma Ben and her spirited granddaughter, Thorn. But little do the Bones know, there are dark forces conspiring against them and their adventures are only just beginning!

Coming soon... Black stories!

The next few weeks we will be playing Black Stories:

The game consists of several cards, each with a Black Story on one side, and the solution on the other. To play the game, one person, the Riddle Master, picks a card, reads the story out loud, and asks, “Guess why?” Only the Riddle Master is allowed to read the answer, and the rest of the players have to ask questions to solve the mystery. The catch? Only questions with “Yes” or “No” answers are allowed. If you think that sounds easy enough, here’s an example of a Black Story:

Guess why?

MAUS

1º Bach A will be reading MAUS this term.

Maus is a graphic novel by American cartoonist Art Spiegelman, serialized from 1980 to 1991. It depicts Spiegelman interviewing his father about his experiences as a Polish Jew and Holocaust survivor. The work represents Jews as mice and other Germans and Poles as cats and pigs. Critics have classified Maus as memoir, biography, history, fiction, autobiography, or a mix of genres. In 1992 it became the first graphic novel to win a Pulitzer Prize.

In this link you can download the comic books.

In the next few days I will upload activities and instructions.
